The Name of the Wind

I finally finished the first book of my summer reading list ‘The Name of the Wind’ by Patrick Rothfuss. It took me forever to read it for some reason. I did have a hard time getting into it at first because it’s sort of confusing & slow in the beginning but overall I really enjoyed it.

My boyfriend suggested that I read it since I hate audiobooks. It’s like a mix of Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings. I don’t possess a copy of book 2 nor do I think book 3 is published yet. I plan on continuing to read the trilogy though.

Kvothe is part of a traveling troupe of performers and after their death, he seeks out answers at to why they were killed and about those who killed them. He lives in the streets of a town for awhile, goes to the University, gets into all sorts of things there. He gets in various troubles, meets all sorts of characters and has yet to reach his 16th birthday.

I forgot so many times that he was still a teenager through out the entire book. Kvothe always seems much older than his years.

I’m having a hard time thinking of how to describe this book without telling the story to you guys. That, I have no intention on doing.

Go, get a copy in your favorite form & read it. It’s totally worth it.

Next on my list is ‘The Great Gatsby’ by F Scott Fitzgerald. I never read it in high school & i’m determined to finish it before I go to St. Louis on Wednesday.

Enjoy your weekend everyone!
